Capitalizing on an Untapped Market
Jennifer's entrepreneurial journey began when she identified a need and worked to fill it. When she relocated to Telluride, Colorado, there was nowhere to shop for high-end brands. This would lead to the establishment of Two Skirts, the first premium women's clothing and accessories boutique in the area.
Connecting Buyers and Sellers
Driven by her passion for connecting people with products, Jennifer launched Maiden America, an online fashion marketplace that showcased American-designed apparel and accessories. Starting one of the first e-commerce marketplaces in the early 2000s, Jennifer cultivated a loyal global client base, earning recognition in publications like Lucky magazine which led to record sales for her roster of emerging brands. .
Empowering Tomorrow's Retail Innovators
As the youngest adjunct professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Jennifer brought her knowledge of product merchandising and engaging marketing campaigns to the classroom with FIT’s first "Merchandising for E-Commerce'' course. Throughout the course, she shared the insights she’d garnered from articulating the stories of over 60 emerging American designers.
Identifying Opportunities for Impact
Jennifer introduced sustainability-meets-social impact initiatives to brands like Tiffany & Co, Zimmerman, David Yurman, Adidas, and Chanel; to globally recognized corporations including Ketel One, Goldman Sachs, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Hilton; and to high-profile events like Gwyneth Paltrow’s wedding, the Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower, Coachella, the Kentucky Derby, and the NFL Super Bowl.
Partnering with Innovators
Following the acquisition of her company, Jennifer joined the leadership team of a next-generation technology company, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer. In that role, she worked cross-functionally with executive leadership, developers, strategic partners, and consumer brands to shape immersive commerce, experiential marketing, and emerging digital retail initiatives.
